South-Africa. Then they fought a lot for the civil-rights of the people of the Indian-community living there. Unite farmers, labourers and urban workers living there to raise their voices against excessive land tax and discrimination.

Mohandas Karamchand Gandhi was born on 02 October 1869 in Baniya family at Porbander in the state of Gujarat. His father karamchand Gandhi is a Gujarati baniya caste. His mother’s name was Putlibai. Putlibai was Karamchand’s fourth wife. Karamchand was a diwan in the British Empire.
Putlibai was a woman of religious nature. She was always engaged in temple and household work. She also kept a fast and if any member in the family became ill, she used to serve her very much. Putlibai was from Vaishnav community and Mohandas’s childhood was spent in this family, so her conduct also includes Vaishnavism, tolerance and non-violence, vegetarianism, adopted a practice like fasting.
