SAI appoints Arjuna Awardee Commodore PK Garg as new CEO

The Sports Authority of India (SAI) appointed Commodore PK Garg as the Chief Executive Officer (CEO) of Target Olympic Podium Scheme (TOPS) at the Mission Olympic Cell meeting. Commodore Garg, who was the High-Performance Director with Sports Authority of India till June 2021, is also an Arjuna Awardee recipient (1990) in Sailing and has also won the Major Dhyan Chand Khel Ratna Awardee in 1993-94. He joined the Indian Navy in 1984 and was in charge of many important and prestigious assignments over 34 years of service.

Andhra Pradesh High Court judge Justice Lalitha Kanneganti transfer to the Telangana High Court.

The Supreme Court Collegium has recommended the transfer of Andhra Pradesh High Court judge Justice Lalitha Kanneganti to the Telangana High Court. Justice Kanneganti hails from the Guntur district and had enrolled as an advocate on December 28, 1994. She assumed charge as a permanent judge.

Home Minister Amit Shah Inaugurate Research Centre At Jammu

Union home affairs minister Amit Shah will on inaugurate two phases of a multi-disciplinary research centre and lay the foundation of the third phase of the centre at the Indian Institute of Technology (IIT), Jammu on the second day of his three-day visit to Jammu & Kashmir.

Daughter of former President of Indonesia will convert to Hinduism

Diya Mutiara Sukmavati, daughter of Indonesia’s first President Sukarne, the world’s most populous Muslim country, has decided to convert to Hinduism from Islam. She is also known as Sukmavati Sukarnoputri. Arya Vedakarna, in-charge of the conversion ceremony, said that on October 26, a program named Shuddhi Vadhani will be held in Bali Agung Singraja. In this they will adopt Hinduism. The date of the conversion ceremony also marks Sukmavati’s 70th birthday.

Precious treasure found in Sumatra

For centuries, Indonesia, a country in Southeast Asia, has been considered an extension of Indian culture. The island of Sumatra was ruled by the Srivijaya dynasty from the seventh to the 13th century. Pelangbang was called the Golden Island of this dynasty. The Indian Chola kings attacked here, looted the valuable treasure and took the kings of the Srivijaya dynasty hostage.

On his return, this treasure disappeared. People kept searching for it in the Musi river of Pelangbang, full of dangerous crocodiles. Now almost 700 years later, fishermen have discovered this valuable treasure. According to marine explorer Dr. Sean Kingsley, this is the discovery of the missing Golden Island of Sumatra.

United Nations Day 2021 : 24 October

Every year 24th October we observed as the United Nations Day. Prior to the foundation of the UN, earlier this day was called World War II Allies Day.

United Nations was first initiated by President of the United States Franklin D. Roosevelt in 1942 during the Second World War. And was used during the declaration of the United States on 1st January 1942.

The theme for this year’s United Nations Day being declared by the United Nations is “Building Back Together for Peace and Prosperity”. All the celebrations will be done to highlight this theme.
